The Formula

We calculate the total number of interactions relative to your total follower count (or reach).

(Total Interactions ÷ Audience) × 100

What's a Good Rate?

Average is 1% - 2%

For Facebook pages, anything above 1% is considered decent. Above 3.5% is excellent.

Reach vs Followers

Using "Reach" as the denominator usually gives a higher and more accurate rate of who actually saw your post.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I include clicks?

If your goal is traffic, yes! If you are measuring "Public Engagement" (social proof), stick to visible metrics like Likes, Comments, and Shares.

Why is my rate so low?

Facebook organic reach is notoriously low (often <5%). If you have 10,000 followers, maybe only 500 see your post. Calculating based on Followers often yields a low % compared to calculating based on Reach.

Which interaction matters most?

Shares are generally considered the "gold standard" of virality, followed by Comments. Likes are the easiest to get but carry the least weight in the algorithm.
